Brazil – Fazenda Vila Boa
About the Farm
Monica Borges and her husband run Fazenda Vila Boa, a 100-year-old farm in Campos das Vertentes, Sul de Minas. The farm supports around 450 local people with jobs and social projects and is certified carbon neutral by GRÖN, capturing more carbon than it emits.
Cultivation
Campos das Vertentes – “watershed fields” – sits in Minas Gerais at around 1,030m. Fertile soils, mild temperatures and dry harvest seasons create ideal conditions for coffee.
Harvest & Post-Harvest
Coffee is selectively harvested and ripe red cherries are sun-dried on patios, raked often for even drying. The cup is smooth, sweet and balanced with soft, nutty chocolate notes.
Tanzania – Korongo AB
About the Coffee
Korongo, meaning “flamingo” in Swahili, is part of Sucafina’s Originals range. It’s IMPACT verified, supporting farmer livelihoods, regenerative agriculture and carbon reduction. Every bag also contributes to Farmgate Initiative projects.
Cultivation
Korongo is sourced from washing stations across Mbozi, Mbeya & Mbinga in the Southern Highlands. Farmers intercrop coffee with corn, beans and sunflower, boosting biodiversity and food security.
Harvest & Post-Harvest
Cherries are handpicked, pulped and fermented on farms, then dried on raised beds for 14–20 days. The result is a full-bodied coffee with bright acidity and pronounced sweetness.
