Notes: Tropical, Pineapple, Honey & Peach.

The Story Behind the Coffee

This lot comes from Aulia Kahfi, a young and driven producer from northern Sumatra. Having inherited Rakyat Farm from his family, Aulia has worked with coffee since his teens. After a short time mining precious stones, he returned to coffee with a focus on quality and sustainability.

Using his own small plot and buying ripe cherries from neighbouring farmers, Aulia manages every step - from cherry selection to processing - with precision. His wet-hulled coffees are rich, characterful and deeply tied to the Aceh landscape.

Sustainable Impact

Aulia’s work reflects the true spirit of smallholder farming in Indonesia:

  • Community-driven sourcing - He buys cherries directly from local farmers, paying fair prices and creating dependable income for his neighbours.

  • Environmental balance – Most farms are under 2.5 hectares, intercropped with vegetables, maize and fruit, a natural, low-impact system that supports biodiversity and food security.

  • Adapted processing – The wet-hulling method suits Sumatra’s humid climate, helping farmers dry coffee efficiently with minimal infrastructure or waste.

  • Building a future for specialty coffee – By focusing on quality and transparency, Aulia is helping revive Sumatra’s reputation for high-end, sustainable coffee.

Why You’ll Love It

This is a coffee with real depth and story - layered with honey sweetness and all the tropical notes. Beyond flavour, every cup supports small communities working together to make coffee more sustainable and rewarding for the people who grow it.

👉 Brew it as a filter for a smooth, syrupy cup or as espresso for a bold, sweet shot with gentle spice and cocoa notes.
